Good morning. My name is João Cardoso and I'm one of the members of the Portuguese Curling Program, which is under the Portuguese Winter Sports Federation (FDIP).

In 2019, the FDIP launched its curling program by reaching out to find Portuguese-Canadian curlers. As a result of their outreach effort, we have formed mixed doubles, men’s, mixed, and women’s teams, and the first two have competed at World Curling Federation events representing Portugal. We are doing more outreach in Southern Ontario to find more curlers to join our national program.The national program is open to anyone who has or is eligible for a Portuguese passport. We are holding a community open house at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club on Saturday September 24 from 1 to 5 pm. Eligible experienced curlers are invited to come to our open house to learn more and to demonstrate their skills to the national coaching staff. Inexperienced Portuguese-Canadian community members are also invited to come and try curling.I am attaching a flyer about the community open house.
